COLOR WHEEL

In this piece, I created a color wheel using only primary colors to develop and mix the secondary and tertiary hues. Beginning with red, blue, and yellow as the foundation, I carefully blended each color step by step to form a full spectrum, showcasing both the theory and practice of color mixing. This exercise emphasizes color harmony, balance, and a clear understanding of color relationships, essential elements in visual art. Through this process, I refined my skills in precise blending and achieved a vivid, dynamic color wheel that serves as a foundational study in color theory.

OMBRE MORPHING

This piece explores the transition of two distinct forms—a bronco horse and a Bronco car—morphing seamlessly into one another using tints and shades of blue. Through careful gradation and ombre blending, the artwork captures the motion and transformation between the organic and mechanical. The soft, tonal shifts in blue emphasize the elegance of the horse merging into the rugged silhouette of the vehicle, creating a harmonious visual flow. This project showcases my skills in blending and transitioning color while exploring the fluidity between natural and man-made symbols.

MICRON PEN PATTERNS

This series showcases my exploration with micron pens of various sizes to create depth, detail, and contrast through intricate linework. I selected three distinct images and applied unique patterns in each, experimenting with texture and shading to bring out different visual effects. By varying the patterns and pen sizes, I aimed to capture each image’s essence while enhancing the dimensional quality. This project reflects my attention to detail and commitment to exploring how line variation can convey movement, structure, and emotion within a composition.

BALL POINT STILL LIFE

This portfolio features a captivating series of still life drawings created exclusively with ballpoint pen, showcasing the intricate beauty of various animal bones. Each piece captures the delicate textures and forms of these natural structures, highlighting their elegance and complexity. Through the precise application of ink, I aim to explore the interplay of light and shadow, revealing the unique character of each bone. The detailed renderings invite viewers to appreciate the intricate patterns and shapes that often go unnoticed in nature, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary.

MAKING MUD

In this study, I explored the art of mixing complementary colors to produce a rich range of neutral tones. By pairing colors opposite each other on the color wheel, I created subtle and balanced neutrals, highlighting the depth and versatility of these tones in composition. This exercise allowed me to experiment with harmony, contrast, and the nuanced effects of color interaction, enhancing my understanding of how complementary colors can soften or intensify one another to form an array of grays, browns, and muted hues. This project underscores the expressive potential of neutrals within the color spectrum.

MEDIUM EXPLORATION

This piece showcases a unique series of artworks created through an extensive doodling process on full sheets of paper. Utilizing a variety of mediums—including charcoal, pen, ink, and pencil—I transformed each sheet into a rich tapestry of spontaneous creativity in black and white. Once completed, I meticulously cut these sheets into 4"x4" squares, arranging them into a cohesive series of nine distinct pieces. Each square is unique yet interconnected, reflecting a dynamic interplay of texture and form. This collection invites viewers to explore the relationship between individual elements and their collective harmony, celebrating the beauty of improvisation and the joy of artistic expression.

CHARCOAL STILL LIFE

This work presents a striking still life created entirely with charcoal, capturing the subtle interplay of light and shadow. Through the rich, deep tones and soft blending techniques, I aim to evoke a sense of depth and dimension, bringing the objects to life on the page. The simplicity of the composition allows for a focus on form and texture, inviting viewers to appreciate the nuances of each element. This piece highlights the expressive potential of charcoal as a medium, showcasing both its versatility and the raw beauty that can be achieved through its use.
