LIVING ROOM SKETCH

In this piece, I created a detailed black ink sketch of a living room, focusing on perspective, line weight, and texture to convey depth and dimension. Using only pen, I explored techniques such as hatching and stippling to render materials and lighting effects. This exercise emphasized precision, composition, and spatial awareness, essential skills in visual representation. Through this process, I refined my ability to capture form and atmosphere, resulting in a dynamic and expressive interior sketch.

COMMERCIAL KITCHEN ELECTRICAL/
LIGHTING PLAN

As part of a unique collaboration between Baylor University and a missions organization renovating a church in Guatemala, I contributed to the design of the kitchen space. Our class was divided into groups, each responsible for a section of the church compound. My focus was developing the electrical and lighting plans, ensuring functionality, safety, and efficiency for the future use of the kitchen. This project gave me valuable experience in technical planning within a real-world, community-focused context.

HAND DRAFTING FLOOR PLAN

In this piece, I created a meticulously hand-drafted floor plan of a home, adhering to typical graphic standards such as line weight, line type, and architectural symbols. This project emphasized precision, craftsmanship, and a dedication to perfection in hand drafting. Through careful attention to detail, I developed a deeper understanding of spatial organization, scale, and technical representation. This exercise refined my ability to produce clear, accurate drawings while reinforcing the importance of patience and discipline in the design process.

RESTAURANT PROJECT

This project centered on creating a full restaurant concept from the ground up, including floorplans, lighting plans, and 3D renderings. My design concept drew inspiration from vegetables grown on the family farm, using their natural colors and textures as the foundation for materials and finishes. The result was a warm, inviting environment that celebrates the farm-to-table philosophy by connecting the dining experience directly to the land and its harvest.

RESTAURANT RENDERING

In this piece, I created a perspective rendering of a restaurant, beginning with a precise sketch and enhancing it with alcohol markers and black ink pen. This project focused on developing depth, atmosphere, and materiality through rendering techniques. By carefully layering color, shading, and texture, I brought the space to life while maintaining accurate perspective. This exercise strengthened my understanding of spatial representation and visual storytelling, refining my ability to communicate design concepts effectively.

IDEC COMPETITION SUBMISSION

For the IDEC 2025 Student Design Competition, our team of four designed an educational space that brings oceanography and astronomy to life through art. The concept encouraged learning by blending science with creative expression, using painting, photography, and immersive visual experiences as teaching tools. We developed floor plans, lighting strategies, and 3D renderings to shape an environment that felt both inspiring and educational. My contributions focused on integrating lighting and atmosphere into the design, ensuring the space supported exploration, creativity, and discovery.
